A car got stuck on the train tracks in Dorchester, but the driver safely got out before it was hit by a CN train.
DORCHESTER - No one was hurt but charges have been laid after a train hit a vehicle in Thames Centre.
Emergency crews were called out to the railroad crossing at Elgin Road and Catherine Street, east of Dorchester, shortly after midnight on Tuesday December 3rd.
Police determined that a car got stuck on the tracks and the driver got out before it was hit by a CN train, which was able to safely come to a stop afterward. There was no damage to the tracks.
The Middlesex OPP has since charged a 33-year-old from Mississauga. They're facing one count of careless driving, one count of failure to give way to railway equipment at a road crossing, and one count of using a plate that's not authorized for a vehicle.
