Team Canada finished the Olympics with 21 medals after the men's hockey team won silver yesterday.
ITALY - It was a heartbreaking end to the Milan Cortina Olympics for Team Canada.
The Canadian men's hockey team suffered a 2-1 loss to the Americans in the gold medal final yesterday, walking away with the silver in the end. Canada outshot the United States 42-28, but it was Jack Hughes who scored in overtime to secure the win for Team USA. It's their first men's hockey gold since 1980.
With the Olympics now over, Canada finished eighth in the medal standings with 21 medals; five gold, seven silver and nine bronze. Thirteen of the medals were collected in the second half of the games. This is also the first time that Team Canada has placed outside of the Top 5 at a Winter Olympics since 1994.
Norway placed first in the medal standings with 41 medals; 18 gold, 12 silver and 11 bronze.
The Paralympic Winter Games will begin on Friday, March 6th and conclude on Sunday, March 15th.
