He will be answering to the charges laid against him in April 2022.
LONDON/WOODSTOCK - Trevor Birtch will return to the London Courthouse today to answer to the second round of assault charges that were laid against him two years ago.
The former Woodstock Mayor was charged with three counts of sexual assault in April of 2022, only two months after he was charged with one count of assault and two counts of sexual assault in another case.
The trial for the first set of charges took place earlier this year. Birtch was found guilty of one count of assault and one count of sexual assault but not guilty of the other sexual assault charge. You can read more about that verdict online here.
This week's trial will be a four-day judge-alone trial as well, and Heart FM's Kyle Freel will be in the courtroom. He will post live updates to the Heart FM X page using #BirtchTrial and he will also call our newsroom with reports whenever he can.
