It's unclear what relevance it has in the abduction and murder of 8-year-old Tori Stafford, but the Crown's latest witness at Michael Rafferty's murder trial testified Rafferty had established an escort service with her. 26-year-old Charity Spitzig dated Rafferty from April 2008 to his arrest in May 2009, and that she thought they were "exclusive". That wasn't the case, as the court has now heard from over a dozen women who dated Rafferty during the spring of 2009. Sptizig says she had hopes of one day marrying Rafferty and the 26-year-old mother of four says they started an escort business to improve their finances. She paid all of her earnings to Rafferty, deposited into a bank account. The grand total of all those deposits: $16,835. Judge Thomas Heeney told the jury that Rafferty's quantity of girlfriends is irrelevant to the trial.
