A local couple will have a lasting impact for years to come, thanks to a fund that was created in their memory.
WOODSTOCK - The Oxford Community Foundation has a new fund in memory of a local couple.
The Cheryle and Peter Evans Fund includes a $675,000 donation that was left behind in Peter's will. The Evans passed away in July 2023. They used to work for Hydro One and moved to Woodstock once they retired in 1993, where they grew to love the Friendly City
Louise Wardrop, the Executive Director of the Oxford Community Foundation, says the fund in their name will support local causes for years to come.
"Cheryle and Peter’s generosity will have a lasting impact with grants supporting Oxford County charities each year. Their lives were marked by care and dedication, and this fund is a beautiful reflection of their commitment to making the world a better place."
