Woodstock residents may be getting an unexpected phone call. But officials at City Hall don't want you to hang up. A company has been hired to conduct a survey of some 400 city households, asking for opinions on the future direction of the city. Mayor Pat Sobeski says it's all a part of the upcoming Strategic Master Plan for the city, "we need that opinion because councillors, we have an idea as to what we think people want and it's nice to have the statistical information that comes back and says okay council, you're on-side with what people are thinking or you could be off-side". If you don't get the call, there will also be a survey on-line, on the city's website. There will also be random in-person surveys out at community events. And a public meeting will be held on June 12th, all looking for direction from citizens.
