OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford MPP, Ernie Hardeman has released his annual business survey results.
This year 91 percent of respondents were classified as small businesses. Hardeman says the results from those who responded to the survey show the many different options offered in Oxford County, and businesses of every size improve the local economy.
Hardeman adds that compared to last year, businesses looking to grow and hire employees were significantly higher. The results showed that this year just over 49 percent of businesses planned to hire at least 1 to 5 employees.
The survey asked how businesses faired as online sales have soared, and the results have shown that 31.5 percent remained neutral, 27.8 percent said they faired somewhat positively, and 22.2 percent faired somewhat negatively.
Hardeman says thank you to all who participated in the survey and wants to wish all businesses in Oxford County a Merry Christmas, happy holidays, and a prosperous new year.
