The Woodstock Badminton Club extending their youth programming this summer
The President of the Woodstock Badminton Club says for 75 dollars, youth aged 5-to-17 can get schooled in the finer points of the sport.
Kevin Cougler says he's happy to announce an extension of the club's youth programming this summer.
"We're in a position now with the club where we have done a lot of renovations over the last 3 or 4 years to bring the club up to some standards to some people in Woodstock I think so now we are turning our efforts to some programming."
Cougler says not only will kids get to play, but they'll also get instruction from some top players in the sport.
Some of the names confirmed to help out include Commonwealth Games Medalist and World Masters Singles Champion, Keith Priestman and Sajad Malik, a mutli-time Canadian National Champion in singles, mixed and men's doubles.
Both Priestman and Malik have also coached world champions, Olympians and Canadian champions. More guests will be announced in the coming weeks.
Cougler says a couple of programs will run this summer, including Friday nights from now until the end of June, from 6 o'clock to 7:30, and later in July and August, where classes will run Tuesday mornings from 9 until noon.
