A Woodstock teacher is going to have one heck of a summer vacation after winning $100,000.
WOODSTOCK - A Woodstock teacher is $100,000 richer after winning Instant Sissling 5S from the OLG.
Nicholas Gillespie purchased his winning ticket at the Zehrs on Dundas Street.
“I purchased two INSTANT scratch tickets when I was running errands,” shared Nicholas while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto where he picked up his winnings. “The second ticket I scratched was the Big Winner and I started shaking.”
Gillespie is a father of two and says he actually gave his wife a pretty big scare when he called to tell her.
“I said to her, ‘I can't move.’ She began panicking thinking that something was wrong. I quickly clarified, ‘I can't move because I just won $100,000!’ I took a picture of the ticket and sent it to her. She confirmed I won. Then I called my parents. My mom kept asking, ‘Is it real? Are you sure?’ I sent the picture to her too.”
Gillespie says has big plans for the money.
“I want to buy a boat. I love the outdoors and I have my summers off so this would be perfect. I would also like to travel West on a family vacation. My wife and I have been talking about that for a while. Now it can happen. Winning the lottery gives us financial freedom."
