Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the counties of Oxford and Brant.
OXFORD/BRANT - A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for both Oxford County, and Brant County.
According to Environment Canada, scattered and slow moving thunderstorms will develop over portions of Southwestern Ontario after 3 p.m.
They could bring wind gusts up to 90 kilometres an hour and up to 55 milimetres of heavy rain in one hour alone.
Strong winds have been known to toss loose objects, damage weak buildings break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles.
Severe thunderstorms also have the potential to produce tornadoes.
Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year; so if you hear thunder roar, head indoors.
