It's a record year for the Woodstock Relay for Life. The annual event that is held as a fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society set their goal at $300,000 for the Woodstock event, and according to Fundraising Coordinator Tracy Piett, they have well surpassed that number, "our current stats are $314,215. We're still expecting a few more thousand dollars to come in in our sponsorships". These additional funds would put the Friendly City's total near the $319,000 mark. Piett also highlighted a milestone for two local teams; "we have unofficially two teams from Woodstock that are in the Top 10 in Ontario and that's the 'Agribrands Purina' team that was originally called 'Muriel's Dream Team', they're right now at $25,251. And the second team who is unofficially in the Top 10 in Ontario is the 'Strides of Hope' and they're at $24,035". The 'Agribrand Purina' team would unofficially place 7th overall with the 'Strides of Hope' coming in at 9th. The other two events in the county had successful years as well. Tillsonburg raised around $147,000 and in Ingersoll they have surpassed $71,000.
