Includes a man suffering serious injuries after an assault and candy stolen from two trick or treaters.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police were kept busy over the Halloween weekend with an assault, candy theft and a number of DUI's.
On Wednesday police arrested a 24 year old man from Ingersoll after pulling over his vehicle on Van Ave. Police detected alcohol on his breath and claim he failed the breathalyzer with 249 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood.
Police also charged a 43 year old man from East Zorra Tavistock with impaired driving after the man drove through a stop sign on Douglas St and Simcoe St. on Friday. The man hit another vehicle and was charged with impaired driving. Nobody was injured however the crash did cause about $16,000 in damage to both vehicles.
A 58 year old man from Woodstock was ticketed with an impaired charge after police notice his car swerving on the road on Wilson Street on Sunday.
Woodstock Police also responded to a couple of assaults at separate Halloween parties early Sunday morning.
One man is still the hospital after a fight broke out at 1 a.m at a party on Springbank Street. Police say the 44 year old man sustained substantial injuries after being kicked in the head several times.
The other assault happened downtown around 3 am. Police say a 40 year old victim was assaulted by three girls in a washroom. The injured woman was taken to the hospital by EMS where she was later released.
Police also responded to a couple of crashes including one on Huron Street on Friday morning. One person sustained minor injuries in the two vehicle crash and a 35 year old woman from Woodstock was charged with careless driving. There was $5000 combined damage to the vehicles.
Then early Saturday morning a couple of kids broke into the Oliver Stephen's Public School causing $5,000 in damage.
Two teenagers also had their candy stolen on Halloween. Police say the 16 year old girls were trick or treating on Brompton Street when two men stole their candy.
