$87,000 has been donated to Ingamo Homes to support gender based violence awareness.
WOODSTOCK - Ingamo Homes has received $87,000 through an Ontario Trillium Grant to support gender-based violence awareness.
Oxford's MPP Ernie Hardeman met with team to learn more about how the money will be distributed. The funding was used to implement a Public Education Program that includes workshops and to create a podcast, designed to raise awareness and promote safer communities across Oxford County.
“I’m pleased to see that support from the Ontario Trillium Foundation has helped Ingamo Homes to spread important information to a larger number of people,” said Ernie Hardeman, MPP for Oxford. “Learning the warning signs of gender-based violence helps people spot harm early, get support, and prevent serious harm."
The funds will also support a program entitled "Can We Talk About That, Breaking Down GBV in Your Everyday" aimed to teach youth and adults about the warning signs of gender based violence
Ingamo Homes has been providing safe housing services for women since 1989.
