The County of Oxford wants to hear your thoughts and suggestions about the Renewable Energy Draft Plan.
OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford County would like the public's opinion on the 100% Renewable Energy Draft Plan. The plan will help the county reach its goal of becoming 100% renewable by 2050.
Manager of Strategic Initiatives Jay Heaman explains why people should provide their input.
"This is something that we are all going to be part of and all participants in one way or another. It's important that people understand how the shift to renewable energy and to newer technologies is going to not only effect them, but can be a benefit as well."
Heaman adds the plan focuses a lot on public knowledge.
"We've created basically 12 chapters that include a lot of public education, knowledge, and awareness and we felt it was important to get public feedback."
Heaman hopes the feedback will help the plan grow.
"This is something we believe the plan is going to continually evolve so we are looking forward to getting responses from people and happy hear as many as we can in the short term. This is an open plan; anytime people send in ideas for improvement they will be considered and probably implemented."
People can voice their opinions on the Speak Up Oxford website. They can also e-mail Jay Heaman directly at jayheaman@oxfordcounty.ca.
