Get out and vote at todays Federal Byelection.
OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford County residents will be heading to the polls today for the federal byelection.
We have six candidates in the running to become our next Member of Parliament; Arpan Khanna for the Conservative Party, David Hilderley for the Liberal Party, Cody Groat for the NDP, Cheryle Baker for the Green Party, Wendy Martin for the PPC, John Markus for the Christian Heritage Party, and Independent candidate John Turmel.
According to Elections Canada, the polls will open at 9:30 a.m. today and will close at 9:30 p.m. tonight.
Dave MacKenzie retired as our Conservative MP earlier this year, after representing Oxford County in Ottawa for almost 20 years.
Federal byelections will also be taking place in the ridings of Notre-Dame-de-Grâce-Westmount (Quebec), Winnipeg South Centre (Manitoba), and Portage-Lisgar (Manitoba) today.
