The Oxford Children's Aid Society cut the official ribbon on it's new 712 Peel Street facility this afternoon.
WOODSTOCK -- The ribbon was cut Wednesday to officially open the new facility for Oxford Children's Aid Society.
Employees waited two years to move into the new $10.7-million location on the southeast corner of Wilson and Peel streets in Woodstock. Wednesday's ceremonies was a chance to acknowledge all of the hard work which put them there.
"The move took place roughly two months ago, and we've settled in quite quickly. We're still working out a few odds and ends, but the staff are delighted to be here and we think our clients are enjoying the new surroundings, we're very, very pleased."
Burbank says a public opportunity to tour the new building will come early next month.
"We've had community partners come through and various others, but we do want to make sure that the public has an opportunity to come through the building. so we have a public open house planned for Saturday June the 7th, and that's an opportunity for the public to come and have a look."
The bright new building features an atrium as the main lobby and a reception area which includes a living wall, skylights, and a central staircase.
There's also an outdoor playground, which is something the Society wasn't able to provide at its previous locations.
The new facility consolidated all operations back into one building and is expected to meet the Society's occupancy needs going forward.
Oxford CAS employees have been working at the new location since March 24th.
