An online auction will start tomorrow for 4 year old Hunter Weston of Ingersoll, one of the most courageous fighters ever and Hunter right now is in the battle for his life.
INGERSOLL - The community of Ingersoll is rallying around 4 year old Hunter Weston in his battle with cancer.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help pay for an expensive cancer treatment. An amazing group of women have also started an online auction to help the family pay for this potential life saving treatment.
Hunter was first diagnosed with Neuroblastoma on March 26th of last year, on his mothers birthday of all days. Since then he has undergone 11 rounds of chemo and countless surgeries to try and put a halt to his cancer. Through it all, Hunter has been an absolute champion and has been described by man as the most courageous fighter they have ever met.
Hunters tumour was originally in his stomach and attached itself to his liver and right kidney. The tumour has shrunk after 8 rounds of chemo, but it is still active and now his team has found nodules in his lungs. Chemotherapy is no longer an option for the little guy and the next step is to try immunotherapy. This is an expensive treatment but it is only chance to survive.
Several local businesses have donated to the auction. It is being hosted by 32 auctions. The auction website goes live this Friday and will be up for one week. It has several big ticket items like a weeks cottage rental in Halifax, golf packages, a hair and makeup bridal package and so much more. In total they have 94 items in the auction.
The group that put this all together includes the following:
Lainie Hanlon: Lainie is a a bereaved mother herself and a professional portrait photographer based out of Otterville, her company is called Lainie Hird Photography. Lainie will also act as the auctioneer and provided the perfect tag line for this auction.
"A Cancer Mom, A Bereaved Mom and a Mom to Many tackle young Hunter Weston cancer treatment fundraiser, they originally planned to have 30 lots in. We're up to 99 lots!"
Erin Ryckman: Erin is a business owner in Thamesford, Ontario! She is the brains behind the group as she has tremendous success with her CWK Consignment Shop.
Heather Ens: Heather is a Cancer Mom herself. Her beautiful daughter is a survivor of leukemia. Heather is our Media support guru, our voice of reasoning when stuff got crazy and again an important piece to this fundraiser.
You can find more information and updates on Hunters facebook page as well.
The auction will go live on Friday February 19th at 7:30 pm and you will have one week to bid on the items. You can check out some of the items on the auction site now by clicking here.
