The winning designs can be awarded up to $1,000.
WOODSTOCK - The finalists have been selected for the Woodstock Art Cycle contest.
The Woodstock Art Gallery launched an open call for people to submit bike rack designs in August and the shortlist has now been narrowed down by a jury to seven. Five of them will be installed at 10 locations throughout the city around February in partnership with the City of Woodstock’s cycling master plan.
Communications coordinator Robin De Angelis says the art gallery is really pleased with the submissions they've received.
"The designs overall really celebrate all of the many things that make Woodstock a vibrant place to live. This project as a whole is really about creating vibrant spaces for the public to enjoy that bring together themes of art and culture as well as promoting active transportation."
The winning designs, depending on whether it was an individual submission or a classroom submission, will be awarded $1,000 or a classroom tour and education program.
The shortlist and online survey can be found here. Voting closes Wednesday, December 7 at 4 p.m.
