The ballot for Ingersoll Town Council has another name on it, as Matthew Chambers has come forward as a candidate.
INGERSOLL - Another candidate has been put on the ballot in Ingersoll.
Matthew Chambers is a lifelong resident of Ingersoll and works at the Harrisfield Public School. Chambers says why he wants to run for council.
"I think I bring to the table a generational perspective. I am growing up in this economy; I understand how difficult it can be out there for somebody starting out. It can be difficult for people in other stages of life as well."
Chambers mentions that he is looking forward to sitting down with members of the public to discuss improvements for the quality of life for those living in Ingersoll.
"Diversification of housing, for a time there seems like there was a bit of a stall in Ingersoll when it came to building housing; we are getting out of that now. When it comes to the growing population in Ingersoll, we need to look at what kind of housing we're building."
Residents head to the polls on Monday, October 26, 2026, for the municipal election.
