The motorcycle ride for suicide awareness will be taking place in Ingersoll on Saturday August 27th.
INGERSOLL - The Who Will You Ride For event is back after a two-year hiatus.
The motorcycle ride for suicide prevention has been going on for five years but has only become a larger event since 2019.
Event organizer Brad Cundy had to cut the event off during COVID restrictions but is happy to bring it back in 2022. He started the event in honour of his late brother, whose biggest passion was motorcycles.
Who Will You Ride For will take place on Saturday, August 27th in Ingersoll at Ackert's Auto Spa, and will also include live music, lunch, a silent auction, and more. All proceeds to go the Oxford County Suicide Prevention Team and Wellkin Child and Youth Mental Wellness.
Cundy says they raised just shy of $5,500 in 2019.
"We picked those two groups mainly because the money would go more towards teens and especially in Oxford County, we've had a number of issues in the past with teen suicide in our area."
Who Will You Ride For welcomes those who don't ride to come and enjoy the festivities, and those who would like to volunteer. More information is available on their Facebook page.
"If we can help prevent one suicide, everything we've done is more than worth it."
