Environment Canada advises everyone avoids travel if possible.
OXFORD - The dream of a white Christmas is about to become a reality in Oxford County.
Despite Warning Preparedness Meteorologist at Environment Canada Steven Flisfeder describing this weekend's weather as "variable and hazardous", he also says seeing snow on Christmas morning is almost guaranteed.
"It's going to be wide-ranging conditions, especially tomorrow, starting out with rain or snow or a mix thereof, transitioning slowly through the day to all rain, then very rapidly back to all snow... creating very dangerous conditions for any kind of travel. That snow is going to be coming in heavy at times and it's going to remain cold through the weekend so when people wake up on Sunday morning, they're almost 100% going to be seeing white."
Flisfeder also noted that travel conditions will be made sketchier by strong wind gusts as well. He advised that everyone avoid travel if possible.
A winter storm warning is in effect for Oxford and Brant County.
