If you haven't already, you may want to take a second and thank an early childhood educator.
OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford County is in the midst of the Week of the Child.
Ontario Early Years Employee Jennifer McDonald says this is an annual public education campaign to raise awareness of early childhood education and the educators.
"In Oxford County we will be celebrating the Week of the Child and the importance of the early years and acknowledging all the professionals that work with that which includes everyone from librarians to j/k-s/k teachers, our full day learning teachers to people who work in child care."
"It's an important work to acknowledge the value we place on the early years education. How play and learning starts early and builds all of those wonderful brain connections. We just want to embrace the work we do with children in our community."
McDonald says they are planning a special Early Learning Appreciation Night November 6 as a special thank you.
"This is a very, very exciting night for us. We are inviting all early learning professionals to a night at the theatre to celebrate their profession, their passion and the impact they have on the lives of the children and families in our community."
Representatives from the Ministry of Education, Early Learning Division will be on hand during the event.
