Stratford police are encouraging family and friends to sign up loved ones living with dementia or autism into their Vulnerable Person Registry.
STRATFORD - Stratford Police has partnered with the Alzheimer Society of PErth County and the Autism Ontario Huron Perth Chapter for a Vulnerable Person Registry.
How the program works is you can sign up a family member or friend who is living with dementia or autism into the registry. If they go missing at any point, police will have all of their necessary information on file to help them locate your loved one right away. Some of the information they require is detailed physical descriptions, a photo, known routines and special needs.
This information can help police track down anyone who has wondered off or gone missing in a timely fashion. The Alzheimer Society of Perth County has happily agreed to help coordinate and maintain the Stratford branch of the Vulnerable Person Registry. There is no cost to use the VPR.
