UPDATE: Perth OPP say the incident was a prank perpetrated by other students trying to solicit a reaction from another student. All four involved are facing a suspension from school. The incident has been cleared by police and no further action is warranted. Perth OPP are looking for two males after a young girl was offered a ride and candy in St Mary's Thursday. According to police, at about 2:40 pm the young girl was walking eastbound on Elgin Street near Waterloo Street when a silver mini van with tinted windows travelling in the opposite direction passed her, then reversed to drive along side the girl. The passenger started talking to girl and offered her a ride but she ignored his offer and kept walking. He was persistent and offered her some, however she continued to ignore them and the two eventually drove away. The male passenger is described as white, around 17 to 21 years of age with shaggy light brown hair and freckles. The driver was also a young male wearing a blue sweater. Any information on the incident can be called into Perth OPP or Crime Stoppers. Police are reminding parents to speak to their children about ?stranger danger? and ?street proofing?. They say it is always a good idea for kids to walk with a friend or family member, and to let parents know where they are going or will be spending time. Kids are reminded to never accept rides from strangers and be home before dark.
