BRANT COUNTY - The Brant County Tourism team, in partnership with the Advisory Committee has made the decision to cancel the 4th annual Tour de Farm event scheduled for July 4, 2020.
Special Events and Filming Coordinator for the County of Brant Lisa Henrique says this was not an easy decision.
“Each year, we have seen a significant increase in ticket sales for this fantastic event. The farmers who partner with us have a shared interest in educating the public on the importance of farming in our community. However, with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the safety of the farmers and community is of the utmost importance. For those reasons, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s event.”
Tour de Farm is a one-day event that features four farm tours throughout the County of Brant. Participants, both locals and visitors, purchase tickets which includes entry to the participating farms and a hot breakfast. The goal of the tour is to educate participants on the day-to-day activities of a farming operation and the process of farm-to-table in our everyday lives.
Henrique says they do plan on bringing the event back next year.
