The 2024 Woodstock Terry Fox Run has already surpassed the fundraising total from last year's campaign.
WOODSTOCK - The 2024 Woodstock Terry Fox Run was a huge success!
Chair John Versaevel says lots of people participated in Southside Park on Sunday.
"The day went so well that at the end of it when we did a tally to determine the fundraising total for up to this point, we're actually ahead of last year's final total. Right now we're sitting at about $31,000."
The Woodstock Navy Vets also hosted their Terry Fox night during their free home opener on Friday. Over 1,500 fans packed Southwood Arena and helped raise $1,300.
Versaevel is very grateful for the community's support.
"I just want to thank the participants, the supporters, the donors, the City as a corporation, and the people because they're amazing and they always come through. The Terry Fox Run has existed in Woodstock ever since the beginning. We have never missed one, and hopefully we never will."
The fundraising campaign runs until December, so we won't know the final total until then. You can still donate online here, and all of the money raised will be going to the Terry Fox Foundation to support cancer research projects.
