OXFORD COUNTY - Southwestern Public Health is reminding people on safe practices when it comes to maintaining a physical distance.
The health unit says physical distancing or social distancing means to reduce close contact between you and others to slow the spread of COVID-19.
They say to avoid gatherings of over 100 people outside and over 50 people indoors. Also, to refrain from going to house parties.
Also avoid going out if you're feeling ill or showing symptoms of COVID-19.
They say to stay at least two meters apart from people, the width of a car, but do so with caution.
SWPH says to be careful when visiting public places like stores, plus restaurants and patios with your friends. Also, wear a non-medical face mask to reduce the spread of the virus or when physical distancing is not possible and wash and clean your hands often too.
Going for a walk, hiking or biking are just some of the safe activities they say you can do with people in your social circle. They say to do these activities by keeping a distance of two meters from others outside your circle.
The health unit says other safe activities to do include playing in the front yard, talking with friends on the phone, video chat or online and work from home.
