The Coats for Kids campaign held its first ever Stuff the Bus event.
WOODSTOCK - The first ever Stuff the Bus event for the Coats for Kids campaign garnered over 250 dollars and around 200 items of winter clothing. The event held by Operation Sharing in partnership with Cedarview Gracious Retirement Living and Walmart, gathered used and new donations from the community. The Stuff the Bus event was just one way the Coats for Kids campaign is raising money and collecting donations. Sharon Maybee from Operation Sharing said the campaign will continue collecting items. The campaign is looking for gently used and new winter apparel which includes; coats, snowpants, gloves, hats, boots.
Items are for children ranging from 6 months to 16 years.
Marsha Barona from Cedarview Gracious Retirement Living explains why the event is so important.
Barona adds that the most in demand item right now is boots, as they are one of the more expensive purchases many people are not able to afford.
Walmart Assistant Manager Melissa McCrea was on hand to donate 500 dollars worth of brand new kids and adolescent winter items for the Stuff the Bus event.

The date for distribution of the items has been set for November 21 and 22 at the Church of the Epiphany at the corner of Wellington and Dundas.
