Don't be surprised if you spot locals laying on their backs at Pittock this weekend looking up in the sky. It's part of their Stargazing event. Conservation Area Clerk Katie Ebel says David McCarter of the Royal Canadian Astronomical Society will be on hand. "He will be giving us a presentation all about stargazing and then give everyone a chance to explore the night sky with him." "You don't need to bring a telescope, if you have one, for sure bring one but no, he will be teaching you how to enjoy the night sky without any equipment necessary." "This is an open event that's geared to kids of all ages, from 1-99. Bring out your family, bring a picnic and make a night of it." The event runs tonight at dusk at Pittock. There is a $10 vehicle admission charge. Ebel says to monitor their twitter posts (@PittockCA) in the event of bad weather to ensure the event is still running.
