Public Works will be flushing all of the water systems in Oxford County.
Deborah Goudreau, Manager of Water and Wastewater Services tells Heart FM some residents may notice water discolouration throughout the flushing process.
"If you do happen to notice some discolouration if you just run an outside tap or a laundry tap in the basement that's not through a softener that should get rid of all of that."
Goudreau adds the water will be safe to drink, but you probably won't want to.
"We recommend not drinking it mostly because it's not very palatable, it's typically iron that you would see in it. It's all tested from a bacteriological perspective and it meets all of the regulations."
Water flushing will take place in the daytime in most areas.
Residents will receive a notice in the mail, informing them when the flushing of their local water system will take place.
