Nearly 1200 home sales last year was the best since 2006.
Local real estate sales hit a 6-year high in 2013.
Final numbers are in, after a slower December where just 54 homes were sold.
But with the rest of the year factored in, 1,196 homes sold, good for the best year since 2006.
Overall sales were up 17% from 2012.
The average sale price for 2013 was up 2.3% at an average price of $230,162.
However, supply on the Woodstock-Ingersoll market is low headed into 2014. New listings dropped by 22% last year, and with 419 active residential listings on the MLS system, the number of homes on the market is the lowest it has been in nearly 8-years.
In a national report released today by Royal LePage, it suggests housing prices in Canada were up in the last quarter of 2013, and will keep rising in 2014. The average cost of a two-storey home rose to $418,282, while detached bungalows went up to $380,710. Those figures are 3.6-3.8% increases on a year-over-year basis.
