The Rural Fire Services of Oxford County will be in charge of a Regional Training Centre for the Ontario Fire College.
OXFORD COUNTY - Local firefighters have a role to play when it comes to the future of firefighting in the province.
The Rural Fire Services of Oxford County have become a Regional Training Centre (RTC) for the Ontario Fire College.
The Norwich Fire Service made the big announcement on Facebook yesterday, saying The Rural Fire Services of Oxford County RTC should start course delivery in January 2025. It also said Assistant Deputy Fire Marshal Jeff Vanrybroeck was in town for the official signing yesterday alongside Deanna Kirwin, who is the Academic Manager for The Ontario Fire College and a former Fire Chief for Zorra Township.
The Rural Fire Service consists of five local fire departments: Norwich, Zorra, East Zorra-Tavistock, South-West Oxford, and Blandford-Blenheim.
