WOODSTOCK - Pollinative is getting ready to launch their 10th pollinative trail in the Woodstock area.
The non-profit organization will be planting native greenery on a Middletown Line property.
Founding Director Rick Tusch says they're looking to plant native greenery to help restore the natural habitat.
"If the insect population is down and bird populations and all animal populations are down, what you do is restore the habitat and put back the plants that used to be here."
Tusch stresses the importance of these pathways in our ecosystem.
"Pollinative fields and meadowlands are almost like what coral is to the ocean. Pollinative paths are on land for animals and insects; that is the start to the food chain basically for insects and birds."
An official ribbon cutting ceremony will be held on Friday June 15th at 2pm. It will take place 71463 Middletown Line, right where the 401 meets the 403.
Mayor Trevor Birtch will be in attendance alongside Shmuel Farhi, the individual who donated the land for the pathway.
