PSW's will continue to make an extra $3 per hour until August 23 in Ontario.
ONTARIO - A temporary wage increase for PSW's in Ontario has been extended until August 23.
Premier Doug Ford confirmed the news today during a funding announcement in North Bay. Ford says they will keep the temporary $3 per hour wage increase for staff at long term care homes and similar facilities.
Ford would not comment on whether or not this would be a temporary increase or permanent.
The pay bump has been in place since October 2020. It impacts over 158,000 PSW's working in hospitals, social services, long term care and home care.
