You can shop through new or gently used Halloween costumes for free.
OXFORD - Halloween is right around the corner, so lots of people have already started planning their costumes for this year.
But Halloween costumes can be quite pricy, especially for something you're only wearing once or twice.
Sarah Allen started the Friendly Ghost Costume Stop about 16 years ago, so members of the community could shop through new or gently used costumes for free.
She says they have costumes for all ages.
"We take costumes all of the way from baby to adult. A lot of our teenagers are looking for costumes and they love the make your own costume station because they can pick their pieces and build their costumes!"
They also have limited Halloween decorations on site. Those who attend will also be able to enjoy Halloween treats and enter to win door prizes.
The Friendly Ghost Costume Stop will be set up inside the Market Centre building during Woodstock's Fall Fest on Saturday October 3rd from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.. It will also be set up at the Ingersoll Public Library on Saturday October 17th from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m..
For those looking to donate an old costume, Allen says they have bins located all throughout Oxford County.
"I have Ingersoll Public Library, Johnny Greeko's in Woodstock, Jax Jungle Play, and Cowan Park. So there are a lot of places where you can drop your costumes off and we really appreciate it."
You can find more information about the Friendly Ghost Costume Stop online here.
Sarah Allen stopped by the Heart FM studio to chat with Dan and Marcie on Thursday, September 24th. You can listen to the full interview below:
