Woodstock Police and Oxford OPP officers will be on the lookout for dangerous driving behaviours during Operation Impact this Thanksgiving long weekend.
OXFORD - Oxford OPP and Woodstock Police officers will be hitting the roads for Operation Impact.
They're going to be partnering with other police forces over the Thanksgiving long weekend to make sure everyone is being safe on the roads, so we can prevent fatal crashes from happening. This includes making sure people are wearing their seatbelts, driving the speed limit, driving sober, and avoiding distractions while behind the wheel.
The OPP has responded to close to 55,000 crashes across the province so far this year with 278 deaths reported.
Looking at some of the local numbers, the Oxford OPP has responded to 1,473 crashes so far this year. Four of them were fatal with six lives lost.
As you travel this weekend, please buckle up, obey speed limits, pay attention and drive sober. Throughout the Thanksgiving weekend, the OPP will focus on education and enforcement of safe driving behaviours in support of #OperationImpact2023. @CACP_ACCP pic.twitter.com/VpQgIEDEHX
