First round playoffs kicked off Thursday night for the Midwestern Junior C League
Norwich and Tavistock kick off their first round playoffs in the Midwestern Junior C Hockey League Friday night.
The Merchants, who finished fourth in the standings, will play host to the Wellesley Applejacks. Puck drops at 8:00 pm at the Nor-Del Arena.
The sixth place Braves will hit the roads travelling to New Hamburg to face-off against the third place Firebirds. Game time there is 7:30 pm.
The other four teams got their first round playoffs underway Thursday night.
Burford were in Ayr, falling 4-3 in overtime to the Centennials, while the Mounties destroyed Delhi 11-1 in Paris.
In the Southern Ontario Junior C league first round playoffs, the Trojans play host to Exeter tonight in Thamesford at 7:30 pm.
