The Vets, the Braves and the Merchants suffered losses on Friday, but the Trojans celebrated a win against Lucan.
PJHL - It was a mixed long weekend for Oxford County's Junior C hockey teams.
The Woodstock Navy Vets fell to the Wellesley Applejacks 2-1 in a shootout at Southwood Arena Friday night. Tate McKenna scored his first junior goal for the Vets, Nolan Brett had his division-leading ninth assist, and Tyler Bouck finished the night with 26 saves.
Meanwhile the Tavistock Braves also suffered a 6-3 loss to the Hespeler Shamrocks on Friday, before they were shutout by the Dorchester Dolphins 1-nothing on Saturday.
The Norwich Merchants fell to the New Hamburg Firebirds 4-2 on Friday, but they were able to bounce back with a 3-2 shootout win over the Hespeler Shamrocks on Sunday.
The Merchants and Firebirds are currently tied for first place in the Doherty Division standings with 14 points each. They're followed by the Applejacks with 13 points and the Navy Vets with 11 points. The Braves and the Dolphins are tied for fourth place with eight points each, while the Shamrocks sit in fifth place with seven points and the Paris Titans are in sixth place with three points.
Over in the Yeck Division, the Thamesford Trojans crushed the Lucan Irish 6-2 on Friday.
The Trojans sit in third place in the Yeck Division standings with 12 points. They're behind the Exeter Hawks with 16 points and the Petrolia Flyers with 17 points.
