There were several incidents where drivers failed to stop for school buses last week.
OXFORD COUNTY - The West Region OPP has a reminder for drivers out there, as we enter into the second week of the school year.
Officers responded to several incidents last week, where drivers failed to stop for school buses with their stop arms out and lights flashing.
In a video posted on the OPP West Region X page this morning, Sergeant Ed Sanchuk said drivers should be on the lookout for this behaviour.
"When you see these vehicles running these school bus stop signs, please try and get as much information as you can. Don't put yourself at risk, but if you're able to obtain the licence plate number, a description of the vehicle and a description of the driver, you should contact your local OPP detachment or municipal law enforcement agency."
He added that someone will be held accountable in the end.
"If we can't identify the driver, the owner of that vehicle can and will be charged. It's not about charging people, it's about keeping our precious cargo safe which is our kids."
