OPP Briefs - Wednesday May 24th

OPP briefs include an impaired driver in Delhi, a theft valued at $1,000 in Delhi, and a Woodstock resident charged with speeding in Elgin County.

DELHI - An investigation is underway after someone stole lights and a Diamond Amplifier in Delhi.

The Norfolk OPP heard about the theft on Main Street at around 1:20 p.m. on Monday.

The theft is valued at about $1,000 and police say the items were taken from a storage unit located inside an apartment building.

DELHI - A 61-year-old woman has been busted for impaired driving on Highway 59 in Delhi.

The OPP charged her with operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration over 80 at around 10:20 p.m. on Friday.

She's from Norfolk County and she will appear in a Simcoe courtroom at a later date.

ELGIN COUNTY -  Someone from Woodstock has been charged in Elgin County.

The Elgin OPP responded to a report of someone speeding on Highway 401 at around 7:10 p.m. on Sunday.

Officers were able to pull over the speeding vehicle in Dutton-Dunwich about a half hour later. Police say the driver took a breathalyzer test and registered an alert.

The 28-year-old has been charged with speeding 49 kilometres per hour over the speed limit and their license was suspended for three days.
