Kids 5 and under are the target of a new health program launched by the Oxford County Community Health Centre.
OXFORD COUNTY - The Oxford County Community Health Centre is launching a new program.
The "First Five" program will provide health care to those who may not have a primary care provider, such as a Physician or Nurse Practitioner. It will be geared towards those 5 and under who may have a low socio-economic background and experience everyday barriers to care.
The First Five Program team comprises a Registered Nurse, Dietitian, and Outreach Worker. Services will include well-baby/well-child checks, immunizations, developmental screening for physical and mental health milestones, assistance in navigating the health care and social service system, nutrition support, and referrals to other community services as needed.
The program is completely free, and an OHIP card is not needed.
