Monday's four county, one-day traffic initiative showed once again that some motorists just don't get it. Woodstock police say 49 traffic-related charges were laid as police from London, Aylmer, Stratford, St Thomas, and Strathroy joined local officers to crack down on aggressive driving, speeders, distracted drivers and intersection-related offences. Officers handed out 23 speeding tickets and 14 charges to drivers using a cell phone while driving. Police say the amount of drivers that continue to drive while distracted is alarming and disturbing. They say the WPS will continue their efforts to educate the public about the hazards of distracted and aggressive driving.
