Middlesex OPP say a mechanical failure caused the driver of an eastbound motorcycle to lose control and crash on the 401 yesterday morning
THAMES CENTRE - Two people were taken to hospital after a motorcycle suffered a mechanical failure on the Highway 401.
Middlesex OPP say the motorcycle was travelling eastbound on the 401 between Dorchester Road and Elgin Road when the incident occurred at around 10:30am yesterday. Investigative findings hint a tire failure is what caused the driver to lose control of motorcycle and crash.
The driver of the motorcycle sustained non life threatening injuries while the passenger on board sustained life threatening injuries. There is no update on their condition at this time.
The eastbound stretch of the 401 was closed for approximately three hours yesterday as a result and an investigation is ongoing.
