The Old Cut Livery in Long Point is asking boaters and anglers to write a letter to Premier Doug Ford to speak out against the closure of marina's and boat launches across Ontario.
LONG POINT - Marinas and boat launches are closed during the updated stay at home orders.
Owner of Old Cut Livery in Long Point Ray Ferris says they are asking boaters and anglers to write a letter to your MPP and the Premier.
"Asking him to reconsider the order in council, which requires the closures of marinas and therefore boat launches which allows families and individuals to get outdoors and go boating or fishing."
Ferris says he is hoping the Premier will reconsider this move, similar to what he did with Playgrounds. He notes the industry proved last summer that they can operate safely during a pandemic.
"Marina operators all around the Province operated safely, they made sure that customers maintain social distancing at boat launches and I am not aware of any cases whatsoever related to people going boating or fishing."
Ferris says already at least 500 people have emailed the Premier through the Old Cut Livery web site alone.
You can find more information and a draft letter online here.
