Local residents will be rallying Saturday in a show of solidarity against a landfill proposal. It's called "Protest the Dump", and will start in Ingersoll's Memorial Park Saturday afternoon. The rally will begin with a few speeches from the Gazebo in the park at 2 o'clock. It will then turn into a protest march with organizers expecting hundreds to attend. It's in protest of plans for a massive landfill at the Beachville Quarry. The landfill would see up to 100 trucks of trash from outside Oxford County dumped there every day. The plans are still in the preliminary stages, but the plans have irked Ingersoll and Beachville residents who have environmental concerns and are worried about declining property values. Heart FM will have a reporter there for the Rally, and we'll have full details and reaction this weekend. Also check out this link to the Facebook Group "Protest the Dump".
