Local Liberal candidate, still pushing for election support, despite his party leader cenceding.
OXFORD COUNTY - As of Thursday, we will have a new Premier of Ontario.
Liberal Party leader and current Premier, Kathleen Wynne has conceded in the election.
Local Liberal candidate, James Howard says his party leader is brave to do so.
"This decision was made with the best interests of Ontario voters in mind going forward with the election. Frankly, you know, it's a pretty hard thing for a leader to do and admit that they aren't going to be forming government for the election but I think it's pretty honest."
This will not stop Howard in his hunt to become MPP.
"This gives local candidates the opportunity to get out in front and to show what they are made of and of course I'm not giving up. I believe people need local candidates to advocate and push for more to be done on their issues and I remain committed to that end, whether or not my party forms government."
He says that voters should choose for who they think is the better local candidate instead of strategic voting.
