The Liberal Candidate for Oxford County wants you to have your S.A.Y, vote McKay
OXFORD COUNTY - Don McKay might be wearing a lot more red these days after being named as the Liberal candidate for Oxford.
McKay says his platform can be summed up pretty simply: "S.A.Y. Seniors, Agriculture, and Youth. We need to focus attention locally, not just on the federal issues, but what can a federal representative do for and in Oxford."
McKay says if he is given the chance to bring change to Oxford County, he knows what needs to happen. "Well first of all we need to bring about a change in the federal government and I think that's a national theme that's out there. We want to change from the controlling leadership that's there under Mr. Harper and I'm certainly willing to be part of that change and the voice for Oxford."
Given that Oxford County has traditionally been a very blue area, it's no secret that McKay's work will be cut out for him. "Certainly a challenge. It won't be about my defeating Dave McKenzie. It will be about the people of Oxford having their voice heard for our next MP. They want change, they want openness, they want transparency, they want to be heard, and they want attention on local economy, not national averages."
Although there are only six weeks left before the October 19th election, McKay says that's plenty of time to run his campaign and get his message out to the people of Oxford.
