The hottest day of the week is expected on Wednesday, where daytime highs will hit 33 degrees.
OXFORD COUNTY - We're in the midst of a heat wave in Oxford County and the surrounding area.
Environment Canada Meteorologist Steven Flisfeder says we haven't broken any records over the past couple of days, but we could come close to it tomorrow.
"Wednesday might be very close with the forecast high of 33 but the record high for that day is 35, so probably won't be a record breaker, but definitely some really uncomfortable temperatures."
He says it should cool down slightly on Thursday.
"It is is a little bit more of a border line situation but the heat warning will likely stay in place on Thursday as well. Thursday night, we are expecting a cooler air mass coming through the area, breaking those high temperatures and putting an end to the heat warning."
The three main cooling centres in Oxford County include the Fusion Youth Centre in Ingersoll, The Tillsonburg Mall on Broadway Street and the Woodstock Reeves Community Complex on Finkle Street. Southwestern Public Health does advise calling ahead before you go and COVID-19 restrictions will remain in place.
