28 street signs have been stolen in Norwich Township since Friday.
NORWICH - Somebody is going around steeling street signs in Norwich Township.
At least 28 street signs have been taken since October 7th from various intersections along Middletown line. The suspects also stole four of the metal posts the street signs rest on.
The signs include the following Roads:
- Cornell Road
- Ninth Road
- New Road
- Mall Road
- Niedert Line
- Maple Dell Road
- Pleasant Valley Road
- Milldale Road
- Otterville Road
- Potters Road
- Substation Road
- Gunns Hill Road
- Pattullo Avenue
- Middletown Line (fourteen signs)
Police estimate the total value of the loss is around $5,000. Officers are asking for the publics help and telling you to report any suspicious activity or vehicles in your neighbourhood. Constable Lisa Narancsik tells Heart FM Stealing signs can be very dangerous and this is no laughing matter.
"Taking signs is a criminal offence and is very dangerous to those travelling on the roadways. Missing signs could lead to a distraction that could result in collision that could result in serious injury or death."
