In a statement released on social media, Hardeman says it was an honour to serve as the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs for the last 3 years.
The Ford Government announced a major cabinet shuffle late Friday afternoon.
Oxford County MPP and Elgin-Middlesex-London MPP Jeff Yurek were two Ministers who were removed from cabinet and not offered another position.
In a statement released on social media, Hardeman stated it was an honour to serve as the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.
"It's been an honour to have served as Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs these past 3 years. I am proud to have worked with Ontario’s agri-food sector to tackle the issues that impacted the viability of the industry."
Hardeman says he was proud of his time in Cabinet.
"Of all our achievements, I am most proud of the Security from Trespass and Protecting Food Safety Act which is safeguarding Ontario’s farm families from the risks of trespassing and for enhancing the Risk Management Program by an additional $50 million."
He also took time to congratulate his replacement, Lisa Thompson, who is also the MPP for Huron-Bruce.
"Working closely with the sector, we have supported farmers and have taken important steps to position the industry for incredible growth in the years ahead. I want to congratulate Minister Lisa Thompson in this new role. Ontario’s agriculture sector is in good hands with her."
Jeff Yurek is the former Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry and has yet to make a public statement.
